Community
In addition to our regular cooking and gut health classes we have supported a number of community ventures both big and small from disability-oriented classes to working with schools and young people.
We are delighted to have received funding from the National Lottery Awards for All Community Fund to run a series of courses for asylum seekers and refugees. This imaginative programme provides opportunities for participants to develop their use of spoken English through the activity of cooking. Each course consists of 7 weekly 3-hour sessions where group members teach each other heritage recipes using spoken English.
The scheme starts this autumn 2024 and will run until summer 2026 offering 6 successive stand-alone courses. Some spaces are still available so please get in touch if this is of interest.
