We’re back! Hope its not too late to say a big Happy New Year to all our blog readers, friends and customers. Here’s hoping that it is a happy and healthy one for you all.
Health seems to be hot topic on the agenda again, as always at this time of year. Will 2019 be the year that veganism stops lurking at the back of the fridge and hots the mainstream?
We’ve seen the launch of Greggs very own vegan sausage roll, Quorn have even spent big bucks on pushing vegan credentials and some of the big retailers have recently launched jack fruit wraps, so we think its a fair possibility that more people will be trying the vegan lifestyle.
At Get Cooking for some time we have offered vegan and vegetarian classes. Our sessions and workshops are vitamin packed with vegan cooking ideas and veg- filled inspiration for those of you wanting to adapt your lifestyle.
On 12th January we held our amazing Vegan Spanish Cooking class. We used plant based nutrient rich ingredients as I’ve always believed good food doesn’t have to have meat in it to taste ‘meaty’.
We made a delicious vegan paella, then Cocas (Catalan flatbread with two different delicious toppings)and ended with a demonstration of vegan hazelnut ‘helado’ 🙂
We will also run a South Asian cooking class which is popular – and suitable for vegans – and similar in principle to the vegan Spanish class, because it inspires you to try and cook something different from the usual and try combining fresh, new ingredients.
As always, at Get Cooking, it’s not just about learning to cook delight after delight, we also offer a number of lifestyle, health and wellness workshops including ‘Lampshade making with afternoon tea’, cold press soap making and understanding the benefits of foraging for herbs to use including in your very own cosmetics.
Hopefully some of your new years’s resolutions can be put into practice at our gorgeous space in Farsley. From some well earned ‘me time’ just devoting more time to your health and wellbeing, we’ve got you covered this winter, and you’ll be spoilt for choice.
