New Course Location for our Gut Health Classes!

Our gut health friendly sourdough and other fermented food classes have moved to the beautiful village of Esholt – For those who don’t know the area, Esholt village is nestled between ancient woodland and the gently flowing river Aire, a haven of peace and quiet within the busy West Yorkshire metropolis. Its roots reach back to a 12th century nunnery and its beauty, landscape and architecture have been preserved by its conservation area status. The very recently restored Memorial Village Hall will be hosting our classes.
The village hall, built in the first half of the 20th Century and recently restored to its original form, is in the centre of upper Esholt, a minute’s walk from the Woolpack pub (of Emmerdale Farm fame) and Esholt post office. It has a kitchen with a great demonstration area and a spacious vaulted hall which opens onto a bowling green. We think it’s the perfect place to relax, learn about gut health and make fermented foods and sourdough flatbreads.
After lunch, we hope to incorporate a 20 minute walk through the village hall grounds and local ancient woodland from which Esholt takes its name (es - ash, holt - wood). For those who wish to discover the area a bit more, you can stroll through the village, taking in the medieval Esholt Old Hall, the early Victorian Church of Saint Paul and many other charming Grade 2 listed cottages.
