We explore some key ingredients and typical dishes of the Spanish regions often eaten as tapas, to inspire and transform your repertoire. Dishes we will be making here are pan Catalan, patatas bravas, aioli and demonstrating a Spanish tortilla. We will also be tasting Morcilla, Manchego, olives, anchovies & chorizo, and will talk a little about how these can be served.
Start date: Saturday 16th June 2018
Duration: Half day course
Venue: Gate 3, 43a Springfield Centre, Bagley lane, Farsley, Leeds LS28 5LY
Spanish tortilla (demonstrating and tasting)
morcilla, anchovies, manchego, olives & chorizo (tasting)
Emily’s courses run in the cookery school where you each have your own worktop space and utensils, two induction hobs and access to an oven / sinks. Emily has eight years experience of teaching and demonstrates all the stages of the dishes she makes whilst you make yours. ( Any support can be given.)
One day courses:
If it is a day or half day course, most the dishes you make are enough for two which you would normally take-away unless it is demonstration only in which case you will just be tasting.
Coffee and teas & occasional other drinks are available throughout .
What to bring?
All the ingredients, an apron and copies of recipes are all provided.
You just need to bring three plastic containers to take away the dishes you make!
A great new cookery school in Leeds. Emily makes you fall in love with cooking. (Julie, Spanish + Taste of Latin American Cooking)
The course exceeded all my expectations, every dish has been delicious and I’ve learned so much. I’m just sad it’s all over now! (Dulcie, Taste of Latin American Cooking)
What a lovely venue – such friendly hosts and the wonderful relaxed environment. And now I feel confident to make my own bread. (Kate, Breadmaking)
I joined Emily’s East of Europe course and it was fantastic (she is also fantastic)! I met a mixture of very nice people, had fun, cooked lots of different things which I got to take home to enjoy. I shall be joined Emily’s South Asian course in September – hopefully meet lots more nice people! (Jackie, East of Europe course)
Really nice atmosphere and surroundings, very friendly tutors (Joanne, Healthy Eating course)
Delicious food to take home! (Tim, East of Europe course)
Course fully met expectations…most enjoyable, particularly the hands on part of the course. The venue is very good, particularly the size, and very well equipped… a very enjoyable and satisfactory day (Charlie, Healthy Eating course)
I have practised several of the recipes and surprised how simple they are to make (Spanish Cooking course, Frances)
I thought it was all excellent! (Aquel, East of Europe course)

Excellent instruction- relaxed, knowledgeable, approachable – exactly what I wanted. (Paul, Breadmaking)
Very enjoyable course at just the right level. Very impressed with the facilities… all the equipment and everything you needed. Staff were great, worked at the right pace, didn’t feel rushed. The course … enabled you to learn all you needed… so you could repeat the dishes at home easily. I have recommended it to others. (Alan, East of Europe, June 2017)
