Tantalise your taste buds, enjoy every morsel with ingredients known to be good for your wellbeing. A full on day of cooking beautiful food with Emily Carey and an opportunity to talk to Liz Cooper of Yorkshire Nutrition (Registered Nutritional Therapist, MSc) in this exciting collaboration. From salads of marinated grilled chicken, asparagus & preserved lemons, and aubergine, tahini, mint & pomegranate, to chickpea & turkey meatballs, and two different fritattas – you will be spoilt for choice at what to recreate at home.

What to bring

10.00 am You’ll be met by Emily & Adele and start the day with home-made cordials and herbal teas (coffee + tea also available)
10.10 am You will make two different salads: marinated grilled chicken, asparagus, freekeh & preserved lemons, and aubergine, quinoa, tahini, mint & pomegranate seeds
11.30 am You can choose between two different fritattas: Thai inspired prawn fragrant or sweet potato & spinach/chard
12.30pm Lunch where you sample some of your creations!
1.15pm Turkey, chicken and chickpea meatballs.
2.30-3pm Emily will be demonstrating some healthy snacks that you can make.
3.30/4pm Finish

The menu is carefully designed to include seasonal and high protein dishes to make sure that you really do get the most out of this event. Liz will be ensuring you get advice about the nutritional content of the dishes and with some healthy eating tips generally whether you have a specific goal or just like the idea of improving your overall wellbeing.

The courses
Emily’s courses run in the cookery school where you each have your own worktop space and utensils, two induction hobs and access to an oven / sinks. Emily has seven years experience of teaching and demonstrates all the stages of the dishes she makes whilst you make yours. ( Any support can be given.)

6 evening class courses
At these classes you make a dish (usually enough for two) to take away, sometimes with extras.

One day courses:
If it is a day course, most the dishes you make are enough for two which you would normally take-away. Occasionally Emily demonstrates dishes but this will usually be clearly stated in the course description, and you may also take this away or eat this for lunch. At the bread courses you take-away a large focaccia, your flatbreads and an Irish soda bread. (You will usually eat some of the breads you make for lunch.)

Drinks /food
Coffee and tea are available throughout . Other complimentary glasses of wine or beer or other drinks (including home-made teas/cordials) are often provided too alongside occasional tasters…

It works out at around £32 per class for the 6 evening class courses.
One day courses -where you make several dishes or breads- are charged between £120-£130.

What to bring?
All the ingredients, an apron and copies of recipes are all provided.

You just need to bring a number of your own large plastic sealable containers to take away the dish(es) you make!
