Lampshade making workshop with afternoon tea

Create your own custom made lampshade in this new crafting workshop with Ali Dwight of Wooden Wedge Upholstery and also enjoy afternoon tea. Nothing adds more character and style to your home than vintage retro or personally created accessories. In just two hours you will have made your own lampshade and also acquire a new skill to make more. Ali, a professional upholsterer, will provide you with everything you need, including some lovely materials such as her Liberty fabrics as well as some interesting bottles you might like to use as lamp stands. She will guide and support you through the process. After this afternoon crafting in the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the cookery school a light afternoon tea is then compulsory.

About Ali Dwight

Ali Dwight of Wooden Wedge Upholstery acquired the skill of traditional upholstery methods through professional training at Kendal Upholstery. Combining this with some modern techniques Ali brings furniture and antique pieces back to life, also creating accessories to compliment them. Ali’s commissions and items for sale have ranged from re-upholstered Ercols and vintage G plan to quirky footstools, cushions and of course her lampshades, using unique fabrics. Ali began teaching earlier this year but this workshop is new to Get Cooking.
