When you want to eat amazing food and wine without a great deal of time to cook this might be for you. With Emily, you explore some key ingredients and typical dishes of the Spanish regions, often eaten as tapas, to inspire and transform what you cook at home. You will start by rustling up a quick Fabada – from the Asturian region on the northern coast of Spain- a stew of chorizo, morcilla and beans, before making a traditional Spanish Tortilla. When you finish Emily demonstrates how to make pan con tomate with servings of manchego, iberico, olives, anchovies or jambon serrano – all to taste. You’ll follow your cooking session with some wines tasting with Sophia, an adventurous and educational wine expert in the field who will teach you the secrets of the perfect matchings between Spanish food and Spanish wines, including Cava and sherry.
This afternoon event is part of our new series of Fast Cooking Courses, but this one with this new addition of wine tasting!

Emily Carey has been teaching people to cook classic and original dishes for over 8 years, driven by her passion to make home cooking more widely accessible.
Her childhood, in a home where good food, especially Mediterranean food was enjoyed, started her off on a journey of discovery and exploration. She developed an eye for good recipes and learning what foods work well together, adding to this a flair for bringing food and people together, and that became the basis for Get Cooking.
With a simple start in 2010, and the opening of an exciting and unique venue in Farsley in 2016, she has continually incorporated fresh ideas into the business.
Sophia has been running educational and lively wine tasting events around the world for over 5 years. Now settled in Yorkshire, her business, The Drink Talking, has been a huge success for those wanting fun, bright entertainment combined with learning new, as Sophia puts it, ‘wine ninja skills’.

Sophia is also a qualified educator of the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET).
Ingredients, an apron and copies of recipes are all provided.
You just need to bring your own medium / large plastic sealable containers to take away the dish(es) you make!

People are always welcome to join any of our weekly class courses that have already started. If there are still spaces available, you can book online and will only be charged for the classes that you are attending and not for the full course.
When you make your booking online, there will be a section that says ‘Enter discount code’. Enter the code that was sent to you via email and click ‘apply’. The discount for the full gift voucher amount will be redeemed and you can continue your purchase as normal, paying any outstanding balance if required. If the voucher is for more than the value of the course selected, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will re-issue your voucher with the remaining value for you to use at a future date.
Please note that gift vouchers have a 6 month time limit from the date of issue to be redeemed, but can be used for any future course listed on the website.

We can adapt our dishes for most requirements but please do let us know when you book or drop us an email to discuss. We advise those particularly with a food allergy to read our Allergy Policy.
Yes there is wheelchair access to the cookery school, a wheelchair accessible toilet and two of our workstations can be lowered for wheelchair use – just let us know at the time of booking.
If you are aged 16 and over you are welcome to book on any of our courses. We usually suggest that those under the age of 16 join a course specifically designed for their age group.
We would not normally take any more than 10 bookings per course (sometimes less). Please be aware that during the Covid-19 pandemic we have reduced our numbers to allow us to maintain social distancing.
Yes absolutely. We welcome everyone on our courses whether you are an experienced or inexperienced cook. We provide extra support to whoever might need it!

Please note – that although classes/ courses are re-starting, we do take the safety of
people being affected by Covid-19 very seriously and have introduced the following
-Class/course sizes have been considerably reduced in size to allow for 2 metre social distancing.
-We expect customers to report if they have had a recent positive test or any covid-19 related symptoms to us prior to the class taking place. If you need to change your booking due to covid-19, please read our Covid 19 FAQ for instructions on how to do this
-We are providing disposable masks for customers (although we encourage customers to bring their own)
-We encourage customers to carry out regular hand washing throughout the class and use the available disinfectant/ antibacterial sprays & wipes regularly. Get Cooking staff also thoroughly disinfect the kitchen between classes
-As restrictions ease, we will gradually increase our class / course sizes in line with the number of COVID19 cases and the government guidance
